The Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum fills a surviving World War II hangar at Cape May Airport. Aircraft and exhibits tell the story of the station that trained Navy pilots, while Hangar No. 1 is itself a historic artifact. The museum is open on a regular schedule, but the building is not climate controlled.

According to the museum's history, NAS Wildwood was commissioned in April 1943 as a training base for dive-bomber squadrons. The original wooden hangar, built in 1942, survives. The museum also commemorates airmen lost during training, making this more than an aircraft display.
Visitors can see aircraft, engines, military-aviation artifacts and changing exhibits. The museum collection page describes propeller aircraft, helicopters and a 1940s room. Allow time to examine the scale and construction of the hangar as well as the objects inside.
The museum lists 500 Forrestal Road, Cape May, and current March–December daily opening 10 a.m.–4 p.m.; January and February are weekday-only. Check the official visitor page for holidays, admission and accessibility. Dress for a hangar that is not climate controlled. Source checked October 11, 2026.
